Help Our Haitian Artisans! - Please Donate

Please follow our updates below on the relief effort in Haiti.

A major thanks goes out to Graham from the League of Hope. Graham was the first to step up and offer to take supplies to Einstein in coordination with Deep Springs International, and he did it!! Right now, he is overseeing goods to be delivered to some desperate artisans, living away from PAP, where large agencies are unaware of their existence. !! Please Donate to League of Hope. We also encourage you to donate to Deep Springs International as they have been very instramental in getting aid and support into Haiti via independent pilots and donated planes. They also provide clean water systems to families and have been going back and forth for the last two weeks. They need donations to pay for jet fuel and supplies.

Update 06/22/2010 - Too much time as passed since I last posted an update..... sorry. But GOOD things have happened for Haiti! With donations of clothing, I packed up 7 HUGE bags (about 4-5' tall when standing) and sent them on the Greyhound to Atlanta...... Graham takes another bag on the plane, with each trip he makes!

A dear friend Joanne, whom I worked with at Aid To Artisans, has organized her sewing group in Texas, to make dresses and shorts for the small children of Haiti! All NEW items, fresh for the kids! These ladies donate the fabrics, and their time making these darling pieces.

When Joanne asked me if it might be possible for Graham to take the clothing to Haiti, I of course turned right to Graham, with the question! He asked where we wanted them to be delivered. I asked him in return, with his regular travels there, did he know of any place in serious need of them. WELL -- he explained that he will be flying a group of Doctors and Nurses from Atlanta area he has been working with, who are setting up a clinic for prosthetics for small children!!!! PERFECT new clothing for those little putters! He will be taking the first load from Joanne's group in a few weeks!

It works wonders, when people step up to the plate, and offer help! It's so easy, and takes only a small effort on all our part, when we all work together. THANKS EVERYONE, for any little help you may offer!

Update 03/22/2010 - Update from Einstein in Haiti

"Dear Glo, I was out of the city in my farm doing some research, that's the reason, I did not get to the internet to thanks you a lot for what you sent us by Graham, he was very care about our case, he is a wonderful young man. I bought rice,bean,corn,flour and hot dog for the food,every one are really happy. They thanks you for your emergency help. I need a cable to  connect my digital camera to the computer then,I'll send you pictures of the lunch time when we are taking that hot plate!" - Einstein

Update 03/16/2010 - Because of your KIND donations, and orders placed at the NYIGF; The wonderful Graham Huff with www.leagueofhope.com flew into Haiti yesterday, with a LARGE tent donated by a very kind, local lady, here in CT. He also took cash funds to hand deliver to Einstein for the purchase of necessary food and survival items --- they ARE available for purchase in his immediate area, now! Funds delivered are also for purchasing wood, needed to build housing for the people camped on the workshop grounds. The rainy season is starting, and they need housing. He has 16 employees working on the bowls, and of course, each worker has their extended family camping with them! Einstein is very conscious of any & all neighbors and friends who are in dire need of help --- he will take care of all he has the ability to help!

The sad comment from Graham was: "It's really crazy here, took us over an hour to drive what should have taken 5 minutes. Tough to get anything done, not sure it's improved any". Makes me question WHERE has all the money gone that was donated to the large agencies?

Update 1/26/2009 - We are working with Deep Springs International to get a plan in place for using donations to bulk purchase tents at a discount or even find a company willing to donate tents to be flown in to Haiti. As soon as we have specifics on donations or how you can help we will post online. Thank you all for your help!

Update 1/26/2009 - Letter from Einstein (he was able to receive supplies from Deep Springs Intl)

Glo, I would like to thanks you for your help,that is very usefull.We received medecine and some food.Graham gave us too 8 big cover car that I change in tent.In the name of every one,we thanks you a lot.We have to keep going,I explain to my group that we have to get back to work to survive in that situation,they have to be proud that our customers are really care about us,over a thoussands of people have been lost their job but bwe are very lucky that our workshop is safe and we can work to get our bread and let the  other devasted have their chance,we still need food,water,tent and medecine,, but I think that we should get back to work and try to forget that sadness history by making our job and reduce the stress.I'll offer job to some people that been loosing their house and family,I'll give them job for 2 months.If I had food,I'll even give job for.My wife and daughters will be in america tomorrow but I think that GOD have a special plan for me when I have to stay to participate in the rebuilt the country,we are lucky,that's what I explain to my people.Now,it's to establish a new schedule about the delivery to DWELLINGLLC.I wish that you'll have a good show in New York. Update 1/24/2009 - The medical supplies, water, food and tarp for a tent WERE successfully delivered to Einstein's family and workers today!  Thanks to Deep Springs International!

Update 1/23/09 - We have found a relief outfit from Atlanta, Deep Springs International (DSI),that has been flying in and out of of Haiti to deliver medical supplies and safe water generation systems. We are hoping that they will be able to deliver some supplies to Einstein and his family. Deep Springs has been doing fantastic work and really needs funds for jet fuel to keep the flights going.
